Christmas O' Christmas...

This year's Christmas and last year's Christmas has no difference. The similarities are simply, plainly bored. Yeah, BORED. Not that Christmas is boring, it's fun. But it does depend on who you're spending Christmas with. For example, it would be romantic if a couple celebrates together; or it would be fun if one whole bunch friends are celebrating together; but it would be lonely and also boring if u celebrate alone.

Oh yea, i AM hinting that i NEARLY celebrate Christmas alone. All my housemates are either balik kampung or went out somewhere, most probably to the Portuguese Settlement. There's a Christmas Countdown held there every year. But lucky me, i managed to call up my ex-housemates, Yuki & Jing Yi. We eventually went only to Jaya Jusco (it's better than staying in Emerald Park or Bukit Beruang when others are having all the fun ;-) Right?). Had some Nando's Chicken. Yuki & Jing brought one of their friend, Jason. Another Perak-ian. It's like i've been having a sudden rush of alot of Perak-ian friends. And I am glad. =)

Anyway, i've been warned that this Jason is such a calculative person. I mean calculative as in 'kiam siap'. If i've not been told that he's a Perak-ian, I would have thought that he's a Penang-ite. You know lah, other than delicious food, Penang is also famous for their 'kiam siap' guys, stingy stingy. Jason even counted the menu to see which set of meals are more worth to his money... in FRONT OF THE WAITRESS~! my, my, my...
A good side of him is that he is very sporting & a good joker.

Went around window shopping after dinner in JJ. The Popular bookstore in M'cca are lack of nice & cheap books to read. OK, i'm actually on budget, but at that time i felt like wanting to read something interesting. But the cheapest & interesting book i found was priced at least RM15++. It's not worth it since the thickness is not there, around 1cm thick, less than 100 pages. Back in Penang, i can get i RM5-8 book from Popular with around 2-2.5cm of thickness, which is around 300-400pages. I put the book back on the shelves, where it was before as if it was untouched.
Shesh, now i find that i AM the MORE calculative one~

I did some very very very last minute christmas shopping. They are for Yuki & Jing Yi.

Went out of Popular... empty-handed. So sad. Went to the carpark before 10.30pm... empty-handed. So so sad. Not satisfied. We walked into JJ, bought some carbonated drinks & ice, went straight to Jing&Yuki's place. Celebrated over there.... with JingYi's new little christmas tree with fake little tiny-weeny presents... while watching anime 'Cooking Master Boy', cantonese version~!

Pathetic? I think not.
I nearly celebrate Christmas all alone. And that's even more pathetic~

MERRY CHRISTMAS~!!!

Dumbells, Dumbells, my very own Dumbells

Back from my 3 weeks break. There's nothing specially memorable for me, except for learing those roads around the Sungai Dua area near USM in the island. Then the usual normal routine i during my break--->> s.w.i.m.m.i.n.g.

My parents fetched me back to Malacca this time. Taking this excuse as a holiday trip for my twin sisters who just finished their SPM this year. I drove all the way down to KL, then to M'cca; where my Dad couldn't get his hands off the stering wheel i drove... and he never get his chance to sleep even though i'm driving.. his eyes are fixed on the road. Now u know why.. hehehe...

Oh yea, guess wat i've got as my birthday present from my parents.... MY OWN PERSONAL SET OF DUMBELLS~!!! It's deep pastel purple in colour and even though it weighs only 3 pounds each, it's enough for my to get my biceps & triceps sore for the whole day. Hmm.. i have such a lousy muscles, i guess...
Well, train train train train more~

Truths On How Halloween Comes Around~

Ever wonder the origins of Halloween? Well, here it is.. after searching on the net.

The word itself, "Halloween," actually has its origins in the Catholic Church. It comes from a contracted corruption of All Hallows Eve. November 1, "All Hollows Day" (or "All Saints Day"), is a Catholic day of observance in honor of saints. But, in the 5th century BC, in Celtic Ireland, summer officially ended on October 31. The holiday was called Samhain (sow-en), the Celtic New year.
One story says that, on that day, the disembodied spirits of all those who had died throughout the preceding year would come back in search of living bodies to possess for the next year. It was believed to be their only hope for the afterlife. The Celts believed all laws of space and time were suspended during this time, allowing the spirit world to intermingle with the living.
Naturally, the still-living did not want to be possessed. So on the night of October 31, villagers would extinguish the fires in their homes, to make them cold and undesirable. They would then dress up in all manner of ghoulish costumes and noisily paraded around the neighborhood, being as destructive as possible in order to frighten away spirits looking for bodies to possess.
Probably a better explanation of why the Celts extinguished their fires was not to discourage spirit possession, but so that all the Celtic tribes could relight their fires from a common source, the Druidic fire that was kept burning in the Middle of Ireland, at Usinach.
Some accounts tell of how the Celts would burn someone at the stake who was thought to have already been possessed, as sort of a lesson to the spirits. Other accounts of Celtic history debunk these stories as myth.
The Romans adopted the Celtic practices as their own. But in the first century AD, Samhain was assimilated into celebrations of some of the other Roman traditions that took place in October, such as their day to honor Pomona, the Roman goddess of fruit and trees. The symbol of Pomona is the apple, which might explain the origin of our modern tradition of bobbing for apples on Halloween.
The thrust of the practices also changed over time to become more ritualized. As belief in spirit possession waned, the practice of dressing up like hobgoblins, ghosts, and witches took on a more ceremonial role.
The custom of Halloween was brought to America in the 1840's by Irish immigrants fleeing their country's potato famine. At that time, the favorite pranks in New England included tipping over outhouses and unhinging fence gates.
The custom of trick-or-treating is thought to have originated not with the Irish Celts, but with a ninth-century European custom called souling. On November 2, All Souls Day, early Christians would walk from village to village begging for "soul cakes," made out of square pieces of bread with currants. The more soul cakes the beggars would receive, the more prayers they would promise to say on behalf of the dead relatives of the donors. At the time, it was believed that the dead remained in limbo for a time after death, and that prayer, even by strangers, could expedite a soul's passage to heaven.
The Jack-o-lantern custom probably comes from Irish folklore. As the tale is told, a man named Jack, who was notorious as a drunkard and trickster, tricked Satan into climbing a tree. Jack then carved an image of a cross in the tree's trunk, trapping the devil up the tree. Jack made a deal with the devil that, if he would never tempt him again, he would promise to let him down the tree.
According to the folk tale, after Jack died, he was denied entrance to Heaven because of his evil ways, but he was also denied access to Hell because he had tricked the devil. Instead, the devil gave him a single ember to light his way through the frigid darkness. The ember was placed inside a hollowed-out turnip to keep it glowing longer.
The Irish used turnips as their "Jack's lanterns" originally. But when the immigrants came to America, they found that pumpkins were far more plentiful than turnips. So the Jack-O-Lantern in America was a hollowed-out pumpkin, lit with an ember.
So, although some cults may have adopted Halloween as their favorite "holiday," the day itself did not grow out of evil practices. It grew out of the rituals of Celts celebrating a new year, and out of Medieval prayer rituals of Europeans. And today, even many churches have Halloween parties or pumpkin carving events for the kids. After all, the day itself is only as evil as one cares to make it.

The Eve of my B*RthDaY

My Birthday... ahhhHHHH... =) *grin grin*
Well, my birthday is actually yesterday and it is the BEST-EST Birthday i've ever celebrated!!!

The night before my birthday, it was, well, BORING. Nobody is at home, except 2 of my housemates but they were out at that moment. It was around 10pm and i was quite sad as all my frens balik kampung. Then AhPua came to my rescue!! He ask me to go out for burger with him (i think he's VERY BORED) but i said burger would do no good; i told him it is my Bday(he didn't know when is my Bday), and he was surprised. He suggested we go somewhere else than just burger. I managed to pull KimFei along before agreeing.

So we ended up in Sampan Bistro. I've always heard people talked about this place but i haven't been here before. An opening eye experience. AhPhua brought another fren with him, introduced as GuoZhong. I always have to think twice before calling out his name, just in case i accidently call him 'ZhongGuo'(China)! Hehehe... The first thing they did upon reaching Sampan is... taking photos with a Ferrari!! *Guys* Sigh... Reminds me of my dad who is also a car enthusiast~

The scenery in Sampan Bistro is.. well, very suitable for couples to 'pak tor' lah.. not really suitable for a bunch of frens like us. It has a scenic view of the sea, with no beach. You can say, at least there's the sound of the ocean crushing the curb/side stones of the bistro. We choosed a side-corner place, good for viewing the whole sea, which i still find Penang beach is still DA BEST~!!

Midnight came and the clock struck 12. The 2 guys put the Smapan Bistro's candle in front of me... and they started singing... --->>
~*~CU Lu SeEA JIT HUA HI~*~
CU Lu SeEA JIT HUA HI
CU MING ZHENG SeEA JIT HUA Hi Hi
CU Lu SeEA JIT HUA Hi....
~*~(Birthday Song - Hock Kian)~*~

%^<<*He rewrote this in my Friendster's testimonial*>>%^

Me and KimFei laugh & laugh because it was so funny.. and very creative of him! By the way, before he wanted to sing the 'song' he did ask us how do we say 'happy' in hokkien. too bad we do not know, so he use 'Cu' as 'happy' in mandarin. I made a wish and blew the so-called candle-in-the-oil, without cake. But i don't mind! Really! Because i had a great time!

And there was another funny thing happen with the flower-aunty. She tought we were double dating couples, cuz we have 2 girls & 2 guys, but in fact were just normal friends celebrating my Bday. She keep insisting the guys to buy her RM10 per rose for me & KimFei! Finally, with much talking & persuading, AhPhua & GuoZhong managed to get her to go away. *Glad Glad* Hahaha...

I had a really have a great time there and not to mention a great laugh until my tears came out.. Laughing & wiping my happy tears away.. and i started thinking, i have alot of wonderful friends around me. And one of them, well, i mean 3 of them are already sitting around me, are some of the examples. I started to see, FRIENDS.. friends are so mportant in my life.. and i wonder what would i do without them..
FRIENDS.... --->> HUGZ, HUGZ, HUGZ
MUUUACKS, MUUUACKS MUUUUACKSS
i LOVE u GUYS~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FINAL NITE of Mid-Autumn Festival

The real day of the long-awaited Zhong Chiu Jie. Another boring day which we do not how to waste with. After dinner, we walked back to EP and we(my housemates^again^, and i) had an idea. Actually it was JiaWen's idea. She suggested that we spend the night watching the stars & moon while eating mooncakes and drinking tea. This gets us excited and we started to plan what we have so that it can be accomodated when we were to really going with the plan.

Luckily for us, we spotted an empty table after dinner & desserts (we had ice for desserts.. hehe...). Coincidently, KimFei and a few of her housemates are only beside the table. We sat down and told them about our plans and ask them to join us. ^The more, The merrier^
They agreed with our plans without much hesitations. So, JiaWen & Christina went up to our unit first to bathe, boil some water for tea, and bring down some extra cups for our 'guests'.

On the other hand, me & my roomate, volunteered to stay downstairs first because other than booking the place, we can entertain our 'guests' too. =) But it was getting drizzling, then more drizzles. U can say that we were very stubborn because we are still staying under the drizzle just to book the table.

After about 15 minutes, JiaWen & Christina FINALLY came down with alot of cute cups (which the cute cups are mostly mine~! ngek.. ngek.. ngek..), BOH tea, hot water flasks, sugar, small spoons, etc. Then it's my turn to go up & get some things which i forgot to tell them to. I came down with yesterday's candles, matches, a few more cups, and a mooncake. We just sat on the drizzled table while eating mooncake & kuaci (JiaWen bought that) while watching the moon. But the moon is always hiding itself behind the clouds. Finally, the Moon came out, and the drizzles stop.

Admiring the moon is not the only thing we did. We gotta have some fun! So i threw the kuaci's shells to KimFei & WinSee. I got them both surprise and they couldn't catch me bcause they do not have kuaci seeds~ =) YAHOO!!! We (the two tables) ran around here & there, throwing each other with kuaci seeds! I got the most people to chase me (because i'm the one who alwiz throw it at them), WinSee got the most people throw kuaci shells at, and the rest...?? They laugh ALOT. i mean, ALOT~!!!

Late at night when KinFei's housemates have gone, we decided to play with candles as we forget to play with KimFei's housemates. But we didn't even get to play it as the morning breeze at that morning was quite strong. Finally, we gave up , clear our stuff & went home ( i mean, to toilet first)hehehehe....

CHeerios~!!!

EVE of Mid-Autumn Festival

On the eve of this year's Mid-Autumn Festival (Zhong Chiu Jie), me, my housemates, and my housemate's friends suddenly plan to take lanterns and go around Bukit Beruang... just for the fun of it. One of my housemates got a few lanterns from the EP's (Emerald Park) warden. I do not know how did she manage to persuade the warden to lend us some, but she did it perfectly.

And off we went to the EP Garden to lit our lanterns. A whole big bunch of 12 person lit the lanterns, holding it on our hands, and we got some supports of "Hahahaha... Zhong Chiu Jie Kuai Le", "Xiao Jie, wo ye yao na dang long", etc., from the EP guys who are stayed facing outside; but we ignored them. Pathetic people. So, set with 12 person, 10 lanterns, 5 boxes of candles, 1 guy (bodyguard), finally we are ready on our way to toy the whole Bukit Beruang.

We started with Taman Bunga Raya and walked by the KUKTM's hostel, Pangsapuri Bunga Raya, previously MMU's off-campus's boy's hostel. Some of those naughty guys even sang a "Happy Birthday" to us on their balconies. Pathetic of them isn't it? Pathetic with a capital 'C'!

We didn't manage to go ROUND Bukit Beruang because one of my housemate was already complaining tired and sleepy. Although we're still in Taman Bunga Raya, we turned back with a heavy heart. Suddenly, a kancil car drives by and the kid inside embarassed us!!! He said, "Hahahaha... Je Yang Da Le Hai Ti Deng Long! Hahahaha..." OOOOoooo.. that grummy little kid!!! I was so annoyed with his comment. I was almost boiling!!! But i reminded myself, That is only a small kid. This small kid still doesn't know the meaning of this special Mid-Autumn Festival. To him, it might be only playing with the lanterns and nothing more.

Even though i do not know how to read Chinese, but i AM GLAD that my parents taught me well about Chinese cultures and i appreciate it.

Thank YOU, AhMi, AhPa!!!

New Police Story. Anyone??

Another boring weekend has resorted me & my roomie to Mahkota Parade.. to watch movie lor.. There is nothing much you can do in MP except to buy a popcorn & a coke, and watch movie. And the movie we watched? It's the New Police Story starring Jacky Chan, Daniel Wu, Nicholas Tse, Charlie Young, Charlene Choi, Wu Bai(well, he only appeared for like 1 minute of the film), etc.

It's another action-packed movie by Jacky Chan ought NOT to be miss! The movie is about a police, Inspector Chan Poh Wing, is plunging his life into despair by slacking off and alchoholism after the death of his teamates. Previously, he was a very successful policeman who solves all crimes without fail. Then came a team of extreme bandits who steal from the bank and like to shoot at any police officers as target practice. They did this not because they needed the money, but just to get the pleasure! These bandits are actually rich kids who were abandoned by their parents' love and their chief is Joe Kwan (Daniel Wu), son of the Northern District's Chief Commissioner of the Hong Kong's Police Department; Fire; Max; Sue; and another guy which i have forgetten his name. All of these kids are from Hong Kong's VVIPs. Ins. Chan's team has already located their hiding place but he was backstabbed by his comrade, his partner, his best friend, Sam. Joe's team was ready to face Jacky's team with preparation.. to play the online X-Game using Wing's men as victims. One by one, Wing's subordinates died, including Wing's going-to-be brother in law, Hong, and he was the only one escaped ALIVE. Then Cheng Xiu Fong (Nicholas Tse), Wing's new partner into the picture. He helped Wing to pick himself up and mend Wing's relationship with his girlfriend, Choi Yee (Charlie Young). Xiu Fong gathered informations about the bad guys with Sa Sa (Charlene Choi) and they both clicked at once. When Wing is half-past done completeing the information, he accidently found out that Xiu Fong is actually impersonating as a cop. He was very angry at first but eventually he let him stay by his side because he had helped Wing alot during his slacking days. Wing was challenged by another jealous comrade to see who will solve the case first. Later, Wing and Xiu Fong were prisoned because alot of public complained about Wing when he was trying to stop a bus from falling into the sea, and Xiu Fong impersonating as a police officer. OK, this is the FUNNIEST part, SaSa came to their rescue by persuading her dad who was taking after Wing & XiuFong's cell. They pretended they had dropped the key. They escaped half way but bumped into Wing's Chief who was going out of his room but the Chief went straight back into his room as if Wing's invisible. They tip-toed into the hall and this time, Wing knocked a big aluminium rubbish bin, causing the bin turn over with a big bang! Everybody in the police station turned to look at Wing & Xiu Fong for 1 minute... then turn back into their work as if they heard nothing, see nothing. In the hallway, Wing met his challenger! Surpringly he too secretly supports Wing to capture those bandits and even offered him his gun as Wing is empty-handed at that time. This time, Wing is definitely prepared. He found out their next target location with the help of SaSa's game maniac buddies to play the X-Game. So the hustle-bustle starts and of course, Wing won. All those bandits are dead and Xiu Fong dissappeared as how he appeared, because he had repaid his long long ago's "debt" which Wing has already forgotten.

In the late evening, both of us, and a few friends of ours went to my roomie's gospel as they have a mid-autumn activity. We had a game of "killer" using deck cards. Everybody gather around ina circle with a piece of deck card on hand and the 4 fellas with the Aces will have to kill other people by clinching their eyes. The ones who are killed will open their cards and put it in front of them. The survivors must find out, by guessing, who is the killer before they are killed. The game ends when the 4 killers are identified.

Night time is the time for yamcha!! Me, my roomie, and my another close friend,KimFei, went to Sri Rama Ram and even called out our long lost friend since Alpha. Justin came out of breath cuz he walked too fast! Poor guy. We talked about the good old times when the 4 of us are in the Chinese Language Society (CLS) especially our beloved Cultural Division which has already dissolved, and our division-mates about how they are doing now too. He still haven't change abit... well, he only change his hairstyle. He still talks fast, and alot, always interrupt me when i'm talking, and always change the topic even though people are still talking about it. Aiyoyo, Justin ahh.. u don't need to rush into things lar. Don't stress yourself out too much. Just relax, man...

Anyway, we chatted until 2am. Then only we are satisfied to let him go home! Hahaha.. we are so mean, buddies! Hehehehe... Reached home, boil water, bathe, watch movie for 30 minutes, geram cuz the CD has something wrong with it, the only switch off the lights to sleep.

Good Nitez...

When FET & FIST gave warnings to FBL... Duh~

First week of trimester = busy.

I really had a "great time" playing with the ICEMS system, adding and dropping my going-to-be perfect timetable, changing tutorial sessions here and there, turning my timetable to be unperfect! I was cheated by the courses offered by the FBL admin, saying that International Business student has 3 electives subjects, but it actually has only 1, which is Training. Training is an elective, i repeat, training is the one and only elective for International Business students. Unless if you do not want to go for training, you might as well take other subjects, which is boring to stay in campus.

Anyway, i did try to add Malaysian Studies on my list of subjects, if not, i am only taking 2 subjects this sem which is quite a waste of time. That is why i keep changing tutorial sessions so that they would not clash. But i still can't take M'sian Studies. Bum bum!

So i went to see FBL's Assistant Manager, Ms. Adilah, to ask for her help as i still see some capacity in the class. But all she can say is, "Sorry, I couldn't help you... i would if i can... but FET had already gave us warning. If out students still did not drop M'sian Studies by this Monday, FET & FIST will auto-drop for them."

What the heck! Did FET think they are the reign of the faculties? Are FIST their comrades? Just because they have the 'technology' word attached to their names (Faculty of Engineering & Technology, and Faculty of Information Science & Technology) does not mean FBL would have to bow down to them! Do not forget that FET & FIST do not have their own class and they have to use FBL's facilities as an alternate. They owe FBL a big time. Think again.

Anyway, Happy Veni, Vidi, Vici to FET.

My First Time

What do people usually do on their first postings?? Do they thank their parents, family, and friends, blah blah blah....? It's Boring. I repeat IT'S BORING~

Anyway, to get on this Blogger thingy. It's my first time setting up a blog for myself. Ok, i admit, i've been seeing most of my unimates have been using it, and.. well, i'm quite jealous. Hey, don't take jealousy as a part of a negative attitude. Sometimes jealousy makes you feel competitive, and you would want to achive more. It makes you feel superior! This case usually happens when you have "mastered all adversity". That is why i choose that phrase as the title of my blog. Makes sense, huh?

But the truth is, the real me, i'm not competitive enough. I mean, i am competitive, but not in a clear focus. You can see at one time i will be burrying myself with drama series, and another time, struggling with my Ghostmaster(pc game). And never, NEVER with books, especially textbooks. They are a damn bore. Well, that's the truth. Hehehe...

I am actually half packing and it's now 5.30am in the morning. I have to wake up at 9 am to pack a little bit more before catching the 10am taxi to Melaka Sentral, which from there i'm boarding a Transnational bus to Seremban. I'm going to Seremban, yahoo~!!!! It also my FIRST TIME going to Seremban. I usually only pass by that place just because i have to travel south towards Malacca, which lies my uni, Multimedia University. I'm going there to celebrate my housemate's 21st Birthday is not exactly what i had in mind when i'm in Seremban. Sure, that's where i gotta go, but hehe.. it's not really my first priority. I wanna try Seremban food~! Seremban SIEW PAO~! (hmm.. i gotta remember to buy some back for my family when i get back. buy the Original-Siew-Pao~!!! wahahahaha...) Anyway, my FIRST THING i HAVE TO DO when i reach Seremban, BUY BUS TICKET BACK TO PENANG~!!! and i really really have to remember that!I If not, RuShan (the Bday girl), i'll be staying at your place whether you like it or not! =p

Hmm... quite alot of things to say for a FIRST TIMER like me, huh? Ok, I'll be signing off this blog for the FIRST TIME. See ya later~! Muuuuuuuuuackss.......

P/S: I'll be having my holiday break for 3 weeks. I'll either not be updating my blog for a moment, but i might peek in once in a while. Cheers~!
